Motorola Offers Even More Savings Three New Moto X Wood Backs Come Jan 21st For Only 25

Wood

If you were someone who was previously waiting on the addition of more wood back covers for the MotoX, Motorola plans to do the opposite of let you down. Although they did start offering a Bamboo option of the natural wood backs last month, Motorola is all set to offer three more options in the wood back department. Along with the Bamboo, you’ll be able to choose from a Walnut, Teak, and Ebony wood back cover to complement your MotoX’s style. That sets you up for four different choices if you haven’t yet picked up a wood back. Even better, is that Motorola is no longer charging the original price tag for the wood backs that they were when they introduced the Bamboo. Instead of having to cough up an extra $100, the wood backs will now be offered at $25 extra.

All these options go live on January 21st. in the Motomaker so if you already own a MotoX, or were waiting to pick one up until you could afford a Wood back, you won’t have to wait much longer to get a hold of one. Save the date, and make sure to save up an extra $25 and set it aside. For those of you who like the Bamboo cover the best, you can actually pick up that flavor of Moto’s natural wood backs right now, as the new $25 price is already live. I have to admit that when Motorola first announced the Natural wood backs that I wasn’t too impressed, but after seeing what they look like on the back of the phone, I have completely changed my tune. They look quite nice and give a rather unique look to the phone without having to apply a cover with the same wood design.

Motorola has truly outdone itself with offering these wood backs at a much lower cost, and for those of you who already purchased the Bamboo back at the higher price, Droid-life is reporting that Motorola is sending you a $75 credit for the purchase of any accessory that is greater than $75 at Motorola.com. (Excluding the Chromecast of course, which they were keen on pointing out) While the credit seems to describe that you have to spend more than what the credit is worth to actually use it, it’s better than nothing. Motorola posted the information about these new wood backs on their Google+ page, (as well as on the Official Motorola Blog) which also had a rather nice looking image of the back covers in action. What do you think? Will you be ordering a wood back in Walnut, Teak, or Ebony? Let us know what you think about the MotoX wood backs in the comments.
